Batala, September 16:- As part of preparations for the wedding anniversary celebrations, a mock drill of breathing apparatus, fire suits and wireless systems was conducted by the fire officer and firefighters at the Fire Brigade office so that loss of life and property could be minimised in any emergency situation. On this occasion, the firefighters conducted the mock drill under the leadership of Station In-charge Neeraj Sharma.
On the occasion, Neeraj Sharma said that the breathing apparatus is used when the amount of oxygen becomes very low due to an increase in poisonous gas or dense smoke at a fire site, particularly in basements, and is used while rescuing a person trapped there. A fire suit is used to rescue a person trapped in a fire, while the wireless system is used to communicate necessary messages and maintain coordination so that loss of life and property can be reduced to the minimum during rescue operations.
Along with this, firefighters also carried out several other exercises to deal with all kinds of disasters.
