Ambala, 26 September:- A horrific road accident took place in Ambala city today when an intercity Smart Bus travelling from Gurugram to Jalandhar collided with a truck near the busy Kalka Chowk. The collision was so intense that it created chaos at the accident site. The 40-year-old bus conductor, Chhotu, died on the spot, while more than 10 passengers sustained serious injuries. All the injured were immediately taken to the Civil Hospital in Ambala city, where treatment was started. A seriously injured passenger named Surya, a resident of Jalandhar, was referred to PGI Chandigarh for further treatment. He said that he was sleeping deeply in the sleeper coach. When he woke up, he was surprised to find himself on a hospital bed. He had no idea when, how or where the horrific accident had occurred.
According to hospital staff, the incident took place at around 4:30 a.m. According to official information received from the hospital administration, 30-year-old Arvind and 33-year-old Niharika were also injured in the accident and were discharged from the hospital after receiving preliminary medical treatment.
After receiving information about the accident, Baldev Nagar Police are investigating the matter.
