Sangrur, September 8:- Taking forward the expansion of basic and common facilities in the villages of Sangrur Assembly constituency, MLA Narinder Kaur Bharaj initiated various development works worth around Rs 67 lakh in Jaulian, Bhattiwal Khurd and Bhattiwal Kalan. These works include construction of a public shed, a volleyball ground and development works related to streets.
MLA Bharaj said that the development of villages becomes meaningful only when development works are connected with the actual needs of local residents. She said that common facilities such as public sheds would provide villagers with better spaces for social functions, while the volleyball ground would prove beneficial in connecting youth with sports. Similarly, the street development works would improve the basic infrastructure of the villages.
She said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, development works in villages are being taken forward according to the priorities of the people. She said that while maintaining direct coordination with the panchayats, special attention is being paid to identifying the required works and giving them practical shape.
The MLA said that providing a suitable environment for youth to participate in sports is an important part of village development. Playgrounds not only help nurture the talent of youth but also connect them with a healthy and constructive lifestyle. She urged the panchayats and villagers to remain vigilant about the quality of development works and continue their collective efforts for the betterment of the villages.
On the occasion, besides representatives of all the panchayats, Sarpanch Bikker Singh Bhattiwal Kalan, Satgur Singh, Sarpanch Harpreet Singh Jaulian, Pushpinder Singh Bhattiwal, Lakhwinder Lakha, Tejwinder Singh and Jeevan Singh, among other prominent persons, were present.
