Hoshiarpur:- MLA Bram Shankar Jimpa along with Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain conducted a joint inspection of Una road and expressed deep concern over the poor condition of the road. A representative of the National Highway Project Director was called to the spot and was apprised about the appalling condition of the road. He gave instructions for immediate and necessary action, giving priority to public convenience and safety.
MLA Jimpa clearly said that till the project is fully completed, Una road should be kept passable at all costs, ensuring that the safety and convenience of the public is not inconvenienced. He said that thousands of vehicles travel on this route daily and the poor condition of the road poses a constant threat of accidents, which cannot be ignored.
He warned that if any accident occurs due to the poor condition of the road, the National Highway Authority will be fully responsible. The MLA directed the officials to immediately start temporary repairs, pothole filling, proper drainage and road grading to ensure smooth traffic.
MLA Bram Shankar Jimpa said that he has already informed Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari about the poor condition of Una road and is continuously working for its early resolution. He said that public safety and convenience are his top priority and negligence at any level will not be tolerated.
On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain also directed the concerned departments to coordinate with each other and expedite the work and ensure that the necessary improvements are completed within the stipulated time frame. SDM Mukerian Oishi Mandal, SDM Hoshiarpur Gursimranjit Kaur, Ajay Mohan Babbi and local residents were also present on the occasion.
