Hoshiarpur:- MLA Brahm Shankar Jimpa today laid the foundation stone of a new sports park built at a cost of Rs 37.89 lakh in village Boothgarh. In a program organized on this occasion, MLA Jimpa said that strong youth power is the foundation of progress of any area and providing better sports facilities at the village level is his priority.
He announced that modern sports stadiums will be developed in 30 villages of Hoshiarpur constituency on the same lines, so that sports talents can get better opportunities to emerge and get training at the village level itself. The MLA said that it is possible to establish a drug-free and healthy society by promoting sports culture in every village. He said that this will also give the youth an opportunity to prove their talent on national and international platforms.
Brahm Shankar Zimpa said that this sports park is equipped with facilities like open gym, walking track, children’s play area and multi-game zone, which will prove beneficial for people of all age groups including youth, elderly and children.
He called upon the village panchayats and local youth to make the most of these facilities and ensure regular sports activities, leagues and tournaments in the villages. MLA Zimpa, while wishing all the villagers, said that through sports, Hoshiarpur constituency will be developed as a ‘Nursery of Sportsmen’.
