Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, 4 September:- MLA Jagtar Singh Dayalpura on behalf of Punjab Government handed over cheque of insurance amount of Rs 5 lakh to family of journalist Davinder Singh who lost life in road accident at Mohali.
MLA Dayalpura reached house of journalist Davinder Singh at village Shamspur, near Samrala, District Ludhiana and handed over cheque of insurance amount of Rs 5 lakh provided by Punjab Government to his mother Mrs. Jaspal Kaur and father Shri Balkar Singh.
On this occasion MLA Jagtar Singh Dayalpura while sharing grief with family said that sudden death of journalist Davinder Singh is a very tragic incident and Punjab Government stands with family in this hour of grief.
He said that Punjab Government is fully committed for welfare of journalist community and security of their families. This insurance assistance amount given by government will provide some economic support to bereaved family in this difficult time to some extent.
On this occasion Incharge of Ajit Newspaper's District Mohali and Chandigarh Sub-office Prof. Avtar Singh, journalist from Mohali Jasbir Singh Jassi and District Public Relations Officer, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, Ravi Inder Singh were also present.
It is worth mentioning that journalist of Ajit Web TV posted at Mohali Davinder Singh had died in a road accident during month of February this year. Under Journalist Welfare and Insurance Scheme by Punjab Government insurance assistance amount of Rs 5 lakh has been provided to his family.
