Sangrur, September 10:- With the objective of connecting the villages of Sangrur Assembly constituency with modern and better basic facilities, MLA Mrs. Narinder Kaur Bharaj initiated development works worth a total of Rs 55 lakh in three villages under the ‘Rangla Punjab’ scheme.
MLA Bharaj initiated the construction of streets in village Nandgarh at a cost of Rs 10 lakh, development of streets in village Kheri Chandwa at a cost of Rs 4 lakh, and sewerage and street works in village Saro at a cost of Rs 41 lakh.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion, MLA Narinder Kaur Bharaj said that the main objective of the Punjab Government is to provide people in villages with basic facilities similar to those available in cities and to strengthen villages from the development perspective. She said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhagwant Singh Mann, the government is giving priority to development works according to the needs of the people, rising above political discrimination.
She said that ‘Rangla Punjab’ is not merely a scheme, but a visionary approach to making the villages of Punjab clean, developed, prosperous and equipped with better living facilities. Strengthening streets, sewerage and other basic infrastructure directly makes the daily lives of people easier.
MLA Bharaj said that the real objective of development is to bring tangible and positive changes in the lives of the people. She said that continuous efforts are being made to complete the required development works in villages on a priority basis and that the pace of development in the villages of the constituency will be accelerated further in the coming times.
On the occasion, panchayats, Samiti member Karamjit Kaur, Chamkaur (Kheri Chandwa), Jaggi (Nandgarh), Jaggu Singh, Harinder Singh and Tejwinder Singh, along with prominent villagers and a large number of local residents, were present. The people thanked the Punjab Government and MLA Narinder Kaur Bharaj for initiating the development works.
