Karnal, October 10: Mayor Renu Bala Gupta held a public hearing at the Municipal Corporation office on Friday to address public concerns and resolved them on the spot. During the hearing, she summoned officers and employees to address the citizens' issues.
During the public hearing, the Mayor listened to the citizens' concerns one by one and called the relevant officer to resolve them. She instructed officials to resolve public complaints as quickly as possible. She appealed to city residents to bring their complaints in writing when they came to the office and to include their mobile numbers so that feedback on progress can be obtained.
The Mayor directed municipal engineers to ensure prompt resolution of complaints regarding pothole filling, sewerage checkpoints, stormwater pipelines, water supply, and streetlights. In view of the festive season, he instructed the sanitation inspectors to ensure that the city's cleanliness system is in perfect order. Encroachment in the markets should not be allowed.
He said that under the able leadership of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and Union Minister Manohar Lal, and the guidance of MLA Jagmohan Anand, numerous development projects are underway in Karnal city, with many more in the pipeline. Residents will benefit from these projects in the coming days. Additionally, Karnal is continuously progressing in the field of cleanliness.
He further stated that the Haryana City Cleanliness Campaign 2025 has been launched across the state. In response, cleanliness drives and various public awareness activities are being conducted in the Municipal Corporation area to connect residents with the campaign and make Karnal the cleanest and most beautiful city in the country.
He appealed to city residents, especially the youth, to actively participate in the campaign, so that a public movement for cleanliness can be launched in the city, making our city even cleaner and more beautiful. He urged city residents to promote environmental protection by avoiding the use of single-use plastic.
He told citizens that if they see garbage anywhere, they can report it on the Swachhata App and the e-Samadhaan portal. Additionally, complaints regarding sewerage and water supply can be filed by calling the toll-free number 14420. The Municipal Corporation team will resolve them within a specified timeframe.
