Hansi: – Hansi Superintendent of Police (SP) Vinod Kumar stated that under the leadership of Haryana Director General of Police (DGP) Ajay Singhal, a significant initiative has been launched to effectively curb cybercrimes and ensure swift justice for victims of cyber fraud. Under this new system, an 'e-Zero FIR' will now be automatically registered for complaints regarding cyber financial fraud involving an amount of ?1 lakh or more.
The SP explained that complaints related to cyber fraud of ?1 lakh or more received on the helpline number 1930 will be automatically converted into an e-Zero FIR. This will enable immediate legal action and the transfer of the case to the concerned cyber police station for investigation.
He noted that, according to DGP Ajay Singhal, cybercrime is one of the biggest challenges of the present time. This new system has been implemented to ensure prompt action in such cases, thereby facilitating speedy justice for victims and increasing the chances of freezing the defrauded amount, preserving digital evidence, and identifying and arresting the accused.
After the complaint is registered, the concerned cyber police station will contact the victim to obtain necessary information and documents. Once the complaint is verified and other formalities are completed, a regular FIR will be registered, and the investigation will commence.
SP Vinod Kumar appealed to the district's citizens to immediately register a complaint on the national cyber helpline (1930) and the National Cyber ??Crime Reporting Portal in the event of any cyber fraud. Filing a complaint in a timely manner increases the likelihood of recovering the defrauded amount.
He affirmed that the Hansi Police is committed to public safety and that strict action against cybercriminals will continue unabated.
