Karnal, June 2: A two-day national conference of the All India Council of Mayors is set to begin on June 3 in Rishikesh, on the sacred land of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand. The Rishikesh Municipal Corporation and local administration have finalized all preparations for this significant event. The national president of the All India Council of Mayors and Mayor of Karnal (Haryana), Smt. Renu Bala Gupta, will preside over this ideological Mahakumbh being held at Hotel Natraj in Rishikesh. The conference will be formally inaugurated by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.
Enthusiasm reflected in preparations Reviewing the preparations on Tuesday, All India Council of Mayors President Renu Bala Gupta stated that this conference would prove to be a milestone in the history of urban development in the country. She said that she has brought a vision from the brave land of Haryana and the city of Danveer Karna, Karnal, to this holy land of Devbhoomi. Just as Mother Ganga gives life to all, all our municipal corporations must also move forward with a resolve for public service.
The Mayor mentioned that mayors from approximately 60 cities across the country are reaching Rishikesh for the conference. Mayor Renu Bala Gupta will specifically share her experiences on multi-dimensional topics, such as how to implement excellent models of 'Smart City' and 'Swachhata' (cleanliness) in other cities, following the example of Karnal.
Colors of folk culture will be visible The venue and major intersections have been specially decorated by the Rishikesh Municipal Corporation for the conference. Three main sessions will be held during this two-day event, where top representatives of the country will deliberate on smart city projects, environmental protection, cleanliness, and financial challenges faced by urban bodies.
Participants will join the Aarti As a special attraction, all guest mayors will participate in the grand Ganga Aarti held at Triveni Ghat. Along with this, guests will be welcomed through Uttarakhand's rich folk culture and traditional programs. The presence of MP Trivendra Singh Rawat and Cabinet Minister Pradeep Batra will be notable in the concluding session of the conference.
