Lok Sabha Opposition parties present notice of noconfidence motion to remove Speaker from office

New Delhi:- On Tuesday, the 10th day of the Budget Session, there was a huge uproar in the Lok Sabha, due to which the proceedings were stopped several times. As soon as the proceedings of the House began at 11 am, the opposition party started raising slogans on various issues. Due to lack of discussion, P.C. Mohan adjourned the proceedings of the House till 12 noon after just a minute. When the proceedings resumed at 12 pm, the opposition MPs continued the ruckus.
The opposition parties again raised slogans in the House, due to which the proceedings of the Lok Sabha were adjourned till 2 pm. The opposition parties, led by the Congress party, have given a notice of no-confidence motion against Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. This resolution has been signed by 118 MPs. Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi said that the notice was presented at 1:14 pm today.
There was a ruckus in the Lok Sabha from this morning till afternoon and the House was reassembled at 2 pm. On this occasion, the opposition parties alleged that the Lok Sabha Speaker is working under pressure from the ruling party, due to which he should be removed from this post. BJP MPs said that a no-confidence motion should be brought against Rahul Gandhi instead of the Lok Sabha Speaker.
On the other hand, Speaker Om Birla has asked Lok Sabha Secretary General Utpal Kumar Singh to investigate the motion brought by the opposition parties on the issue of his removal.
In the notice presented by the Congress against Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, it has been said that on many occasions, leaders of opposition parties were not allowed to speak and their democratic rights have been taken away. This notice has been given under the provisions of Article 94 (C) of the Constitution of India because partisan behavior is being used to conduct the business of the Lok Sabha.
The opposition alleges that their voice is being suppressed in the House and a partisan attitude is being adopted.
The political temperature also rose outside the House. Speaking on the controversy related to the book of former Army Chief General Naravane, Rahul Gandhi targeted the central government and said that either the former Army Chief is lying or the government, but he is fully confident that General Naravane will never lie. This statement has further intensified the ongoing tussle between the government and the opposition, due to which there are chances of huge uproar in the coming days of the budget session.
