Gharuan, January 30:- As per the instructions of the Punjab Government and Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh, the Health Department is continuously making people aware of the disease. In this context, World Leprosy Day was celebrated at Primary Health Center Gharuan under the supervision of Civil Surgeon Dr. Sangeeta Jain.
This event was led by Senior Medical Officer Dr. Preet Mohan Singh Khurana. On this occasion, Dr. Preet Mohan Singh Khurana said in his address that leprosy is a completely curable disease and it can be controlled with timely diagnosis and treatment. He appealed to the people to immediately contact the nearest health center if any symptoms are seen and to stay away from the misconceptions present in the society.
On this occasion, the patients who came to the OPD were also told about leprosy and detailed information was given regarding the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of the disease.
On this occasion, Medical Officers Dr. Saroj and Dr. Rahul, Staff Nurse Amaninder Kaur, Pharmacy Officers Divya and Balwinder Singh along with other paramedical staff were also present, who made this awareness activity a success.
