Rahon- As per the instructions of Punjab State Legal Services Authority, under the directions of District and Sessions Judge Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar Smt. Priya Sood and Civil Judge (Senior Division)/CJM-cum-Secretary District Legal Services Authority Dr. Amandeep, the District Legal Services Authority organized a 'Legal Awareness Seminar and Camp' on the occasion of Legal Services Day at Community Hall Usmanpur.
On this occasion, the Authority's Para Legal Volunteer Baldev Bharti gave information about the establishment of 'Legal Services Day' and 'Legal Services Authority Act' and said that the Authority provides free legal aid to the economically weak and needy against injustice so that no poor citizen is deprived of getting justice. In free legal aid, the services of lawyers are provided free of cost. A toll free number- 15100 has also been issued for free legal services.
On this occasion, Para Legal Volunteer Jarnail Singh Khurd and PLV Kumari Simranjot Kaur Bharti said that against crimes against children, Child Help Line-1098 can be called, against atrocities against women, Women Help Line-1091 and for police assistance, Police Help Line-112 can be called.
They also said that on 13 December 2025, a National Lok Adalat is being organized at the New Court Complex, Nawanshahr, in which pending cases of the courts will be disposed of. On this occasion, detailed information was given about various welfare schemes to raise the social and economic status of women, children and workers and awareness materials were also distributed.
