New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday gave a clear message that making people's lives easier is the priority of his government's third term. He said no law should be a burden on any citizen and rules and regulations should always be for the convenience of the people.
Addressing an NDA Parliamentary Party meeting here, Modi also said that the country is now in a complete reform express phase, where reforms are happening rapidly and with clear intention.
The Prime Minister stressed that the government's reforms are completely citizen-centric, and not just economic or revenue-centric. He said the aim is to remove the day-to-day obstacles of the people so that they can develop to their full potential.
Briefing reporters after the meeting, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said that Prime Minister Modi has given very good guidelines for the lawmakers and said that the most important issue in the third term of his government is the Reform Express.
Quoting Modi, Rijiju said that rules and laws should be for improving the system, not for harassing people and there should be no law that harasses people without any reason. He said, "Now we will work in this direction. The Central government, state governments and local self-government bodies like municipalities and panchayats, everyone should work in this direction..."
