Chandigarh, May 17:- Haryana Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini announced that a study centre and a chair in the name of Maharana Pratap will be set up in Kurukshetra University. Apart from this, the name of Government Women's College located in Baragarh, Shahzadpur will be changed to Maharani Padmavati Government College.
The Chief Minister made this announcement on Sunday at the state level function of Maharana Pratap Jayanti organized under the 'Sant-Mahanpurush Samman Ae Vichar Prasar Yojana' in Shahzadpur, Ambala. He also announced to provide Rs 5 crore for various development works in Narayangarh assembly constituency, Rs 31 lakh for the construction of Rajput Hostel and to pave the Kacha Nallah of Shahzadpur. Earlier, the Chief Minister also inaugurated the renovated statue of Maharana Pratap. The function was specially attended by the Governor General of Mizoram (Dr.) Vijay Kumar Singh. Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini said that Maharana Pratap was such a great warrior whose name alone evokes a wave of patriotism. Hearing his name, the heart fills with pride and eyes with devotion. Maharana Pratap was born in the Rajput community at a time when Indian society was plagued by injustice, atrocities and work was being done to destroy our glorious culture and hurt religious sentiments. He inherited bravery and valor from Maharana Kumbha and Rana Sanga and after assuming power in Mewar, he set an unparalleled example of courage, valor and bravery. His horse 'Chetak' and elephant 'Ramprasad' were also unique like him who set examples of sacrifice for the protection of nation, religion and honour.
The Chief Minister said that when Maharana Pratap took over the power of Mewar, half of Mewar had come under the control of the Mughals. Maharana Pratap spent about 20 years in the forests to free his birthplace and land of work from the Mughals. He accepted to eat grass rotis but did not give up. He said that Maharana Pratap was born in the brave Rajput community. Rajput is not a caste, but a symbol of justice and truth. This community gave the country great rulers. After India's independence and freedom, this society has a leading place among those who sacrificed to protect the honor, dignity and glory of the nation.
The Chief Minister said that the life of Maharana Pratap gives us the message that as long as self-respect lives, our soul lives. His principles of not allowing any harm to the civilization and culture of the country are still guiding us today. Inspired by his bravery, our forces have licked the dust of the enemies many times in wars.
Shri Naib Singh Saini said that recently we have celebrated the anniversary of Operation Sindoor. A year ago, under the able leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, our forces taught a lesson to the terrorists who killed unarmed civilians in Pahalgam. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi ji, today the country is emerging as a powerful India and the sting of India's power is resounding all over the world. This is the same powerful India that great men like Maharana Pratap had dreamed of. The heroic stories of Maharana Pratap are the glory of our history.
Mizoram Governor General (Dr.) Vijay Kumar Singh said that the life of Maharana Pratap should be an inspiration for every Indian. We should learn from his life that we should never forget our heritage, culture and religion. Maharana Pratap always gave priority to the welfare of the people and never cared about his own comfort or welfare. Only by following his ideals will the society, state and country develop. He said that the same style of warfare with which Maharana Pratap defeated the Mughals was adopted by Chhatrapati Shivaji. Maharana Pratap's war strategy was unparalleled from which we can learn that we should never do anything emotionally, but if we do everything thoughtfully, then victory will always be yours. Just as Maharana Pratap did not forget his karma and religion despite the difficulties, he had to eat grass and live in the forest, similarly we should also learn to struggle and fight with difficulties. To take Haryana forward, we should take inspiration from his life.
The Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Shri Shyam Singh Rana, who was leading the ceremony, gave detailed information about the bravery, valor and sacrifice of Maharana Pratap, his horse and elephant, and shed light on the struggle they waged and the incidents of the battle in Haldi Ghati. He said that Maharana Pratap was a hero in the true sense. Along with Maharana Pratap, 12 generations before him also made sacrifices for the country. His birth anniversary is being celebrated with full devotion and faith in different parts of the country.
On this occasion, Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda, Food Supply Minister Rajesh Nagar, Assandh MLA Yoginder Rana, former Minister Sanjay Singh, Mandeep Rana, Santosh Sarwan, Rekha Rana, Shashi Parmar, Amarpal Rana, Dr. Pawan Saini and Virendra Chauhan along with many other dignitaries were present.
