Mahilpur:- With the aim of highlighting the talent of children, students from various schools of Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr and Kapurthala districts participated with great enthusiasm in the 31st Nikiya Karumbalan Literature Creation Competition organized by Sur Sangam Educational Trust Mahilpur. Harkirat Kaur, Baneet Singh, Anamika and Gurasis Singh won the first places in the competitions organized for essay, poetry, story and painting.
Dr. Parminder Singh, ophthalmological officer and international athlete Amandeep Singh Bains specially came to congratulate the students who participated in the competitions. In their address, they said that nothing is impossible to achieve in life, when you walk with courage and hard work, the destination is at your feet.
Explaining the secrets of literary creation to the students, Shiromani Sahityakar Baljinder Mann said that in whatever genre of literature you want to create, you should read as many books as possible, which will strengthen your creativity. Continuous practice is needed to embellish and improve the creation.
On this occasion, eye specialist Dr. Parminder Singh was honored for his excellent social services and sets of books were provided to the participants. Chanchal Singh Bains, Bagga Singh Artist, Madam Surinder Kaur, Sahitakar Raghubir Singh Kalo, State Awardee Karnail Singh, Principal Manjit Kaur, Harmanpreet Kaur, Headmaster Balbir Singh Khanpur, Manjinder Heer, Harvir Mann, Manjinder Pal, Pawan Skruli etc. made special contributions in conducting the competitions in a brilliant manner.
Multi-talented artist Sukhman Singh captivated everyone by conducting the stage with his performances. Providing information about the winners of the competition, Managing Editor Manjit Kaur said that these winners will be honored with certificates and cash prizes by international writer and journalist S. Ashok Bhaura (Gyani Harkewal Singh Saali Memorial Scholarship). Kuldeep Kaur Bains thanked everyone.

In the story writing competition, Baneet Singh, son of Ram Saroop Government High School Kalewal Bhagtan won by defeating Japandeep Singh, son of Navtej Singh Ankur Public High School Mahilpur and Ragav Singh, son of Sukhwinder Singh Khalsa Collegiate School Mahilpur second and third place.
In the poetry competition, Anamika daughter of Balwinder Singh, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Public School Ladhewala stood first, Ritika Heer daughter of Gurdeep Ram Monica Memorial School, Malee stood second, and Tarnum Raju daughter of Teja Singh, King Edward Public School, Tutomajara stood third.
GurAsis Sahni son of Kulwinder Singh Sahni of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa Collegiate School, Mahilpur stood first by creating a magnificent painting related to Punjabi culture.
In this competition, the second place went to Amanpreet Kaur daughter of Mangat Ram Ankur Public School, Mahilpur, and the third place went to Muskan Kaur daughter of Jasvir Singh of Saint Soldier Divine Public School, Mahilpur.
