Jyot Social Awareness and Welfare Society organizes awareness camp on workers welfare schemes at Mahadipur

Rahon/Nawanshahr- Jyot Social Awareness and Welfare Society organized an awareness camp on workers’ welfare schemes at village Mahadipur in collaboration with National Labor Organization (LO).
 On this occasion, the society’s Documentation Officer Kumari Simranjot Kaur informed that MNREGA women/male laborers, civil engineers/laborers, painters, plumbers, carpenters, steel fixers, marble/tile engineers/laborers, stone masons, road construction workers, electricians, POP workers who have worked for 90 days in the construction sector during the last 12 months. 
Masons/labourers, stonemasons and bricklayers who are between 18 and 58 years of age can become beneficiaries of Punjab Construction Workers Welfare Board Chandigarh. 
Simranjot Kaur said that the beneficiary card holders are provided with various welfare schemes by the board ranging from Rs. 3,000/- to Rs. 70,000/- as scholarship, Rs. 51,000/- as auspicious money for the marriage of a girl, Rs. 10,000/- once in three years for visiting religious/historical places or hometown, Rs. 1,00,000/- for the treatment of dangerous diseases for the worker and his family members, Rs. 1,000/- for spectacles, Rs. 5,000/- for dental implants and Rs. 6,000/- for hearing aids, after the death of the worker or a family member. 20,000/-, Rs. 2,00,000/- in case of natural death of the worker, Rs. 4,00,000/- in case of accidental death and Rs. 4,000/- for 1% in case of suspected disability, Rs. 50,000/- for general surgery, Rs. 21,000/- on birth of a son of a female worker, Rs. 5,000/- on birth of a son of a male worker, Rs. 24,000/- for maintenance of mentally retarded and disabled children of the worker, Rs. 75,000/- as a fixed deposit for a new born daughter, for purchase of tools kit for the worker who has obtained skill up-gradation/RPL certificate of 'Punjab Skill Development Mission' Financial assistance of Rs. 10,000/- is provided. 
On the occasion of this awareness camp, Retired Subedar Jeet Singh, social worker Mohan Singh and Chief Volunteer of the Society Harshdeep Uan rendered special services.
