Patiala (June 30): Today, representatives of the Employees' Welfare Joint Committee, led by President Swarn Singh Banga, held a crucial meeting with Dr. Rupinder Bakshi, Joint Director of the Department of Research and Medical Education, to discuss their demands.
Regarding the restoration of abolished posts and the creation of new ones, officials stated that no requests had been received from the lower levels; however, they assured that immediate action would be taken on any proposals received. The government is currently deliberating on the cancellation of outsourced recruitment; once a decision is made, it will be implemented immediately.
Action is underway regarding the case for the 4400 grade pay for nursing staff. Communications have already been sent to the Director-Principal of the Medical College, Patiala, and the Medical Superintendent of Rajindra Hospital, Patiala, concerning the payment of full salaries to employees who applied before January 15, 2015, but were recruited later, as well as the settlement of pay commission arrears for Electrician Grade-II staff.
Regarding promotions from Class IV to Lab Attendant and Clerk positions, officials informed the delegation that the notification for departmental service rules is expected soon; the promotion process will commence immediately upon receipt of approval.
Expressing satisfaction with the meeting, the union leaders concluded the proceedings after deciding to hold a review meeting in a month's time.
