Hisar: On Wednesday, various cells, the youth wing, and the INSO student wing of the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) in Hisar district staged a massive protest against the alleged atrocities and lathi-charge inflicted upon students at Delhi's Jantar Mantar. Led by JJP Hisar District President Anil Balkiya, hundreds of youths and students marched on foot from Gate No. 4 of Haryana Agricultural University (HAU) to the Mini Secretariat, expressing their outrage against the central government.
The protesters submitted a memorandum addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi through the Hisar Deputy Commissioner, demanding the immediate resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on moral grounds. As the Deputy Commissioner was unavailable, Tehsildar Rakesh Hans received the memorandum. Speaking on the occasion, Anil Balkiya stated that the use of force against students who were peacefully presenting their demands within a democratic system is extremely unfortunate and condemnable.
He asserted that any attempt to suppress the students' voices would not be tolerated under any circumstances. He added that the JJP and INSO have always fought—and will continue to fight—to protect the rights and interests of students.
He demanded that the central government conduct an impartial inquiry into the entire incident, take strict action against the guilty, and secure the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on moral grounds. INSO State Senior Vice President Harikesh Dhanda stated that if justice is not served to the students, the JJP and INSO would be compelled to launch a mass movement across the state.
