Hoshiarpur:- On the occasion of International Women's Day, today at Gurudwara Singh Shaheed Nangal Khilari, on the occasion of the inauguration of the annual Shaheed Jor Mela dedicated to the sacred memory of Sahibzada Baba Ajit Singh and his fellow Singhs and martyrs, Talwinder Singh Heer Nangal Khilari, District Propaganda Secretary of Bhaqi Ekta Ugrahan, paid homage to all the great mothers of the world including Bebe Nanaki Ji, Mata Gujri Ji, Mata Sundari Ji, Mata Bhag Kaur, Bibi Gulab Kaur, Mata Vidyawati, Durga Devi, Bibi Harsharan Kaur and said that no matter how great or famous a person becomes in the world, he is unable to repay the debt of his mother's kindness.
The achievement of every great person is due to the inspiration and blessings of a woman. He said that due to the bad conditions of the country and the state and the incompetent rulers, women have not been given equal respect and rights as men, for which we all need to work together to pay off the debt we have incurred, considering it our duty. Only then can the society and the country progress and improve. On this occasion, Mata Bhagwant Kaur Canada and Simarjit Kaur Heer were honored.

Sharing information about the upcoming events, Talwinder Singh Heer said that the sacrifice made by Sahibzada Baba Ajit Singh, grandson of Jagat Mata Gujri Ji and son of Mata Sundar Kaur Ji, and his fellow Singhs, martyrs, will always be remembered and the annual Shaheed Jor Mela dedicated to the martyrdom they achieved to save the honor of a helpless woman will continue to be celebrated on March 10 every year and the unwavering effort to connect the coming generations with history to respect women will continue.
He extended an open invitation to all the residents of the city and the area to reach Gurdwara Shaheed Nangal Khiladri on Tuesday, March 10 and make the Shaheed Jor Mela a success, to reach and receive the blessings of Sahibzada Baba Ajit Singh Ji Maharaj and his fellow Singhs, martyrs, and to contribute to the progress and improvement of the country and society by following the path shown by them.
