Una, March 7: Deputy Commissioner, Una, Jatin Lal, stated that prioritizing education and opportunities for daughters is the need of the hour, so that they can achieve their rights and become self-reliant. He added that when daughters become educated and empowered, the entire society progresses.
He was addressing a district-level program organized by the Social Justice and Empowerment Department at Lala Jagat Narayan Himotkarsh Girls College, Lalsingi, Una, on the occasion of International Women's Day on Saturday. Anita Sharma, Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, Una, was present as a special guest.

In his address, the Deputy Commissioner stated that women play a significant role in shaping our lives and society. He emphasized the need for all sections of society to work together to educate daughters, ensure their safety, and empower them. He said that daughters should be given the same opportunities in life as sons, and they should be empowered so that they can become self-reliant and stand firmly on their own feet.
He said that today women are playing an important role in every field and are moving forward shoulder to shoulder with men. It is essential for women to be self-reliant and aware for the inclusive development of society.

Anita Sharma, Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, Una, said that along with being educated, it is also important for women to be aware of their rights. She provided information about various provisions related to legal aid, mediation, the right to equality, and women's safety, and encouraged women to play a leadership role in society.

Earlier, Child Development Project Officer Shiv Kumar welcomed the chief guest and other guests and provided information on various schemes run by the department. District Program Officer Harish Mishra also expressed his views on this occasion.
At the event, various Anganwadi workers presented modeling on women's empowerment, a skit on the theme "Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao," and cultural presentations based on departmental schemes.
Women who have made outstanding contributions in various fields were honored during the program. Additionally, under the Nutrition Campaign, three children were given their first Annaprashan ceremony, and three pregnant women were given baby shower ceremonies. Prizes were also distributed to the women who presented cultural programs.
District Child Protection Officer Kamaldeep Singh, departmental officers, supervisors from various blocks, and Anganwadi workers were present at the event.
