Hisar: A meeting of trade representatives was held under the chairmanship of Bajrang Garg, National General Secretary of the All India Trade Federation and State President of the Haryana State Trade Federation. Concerns were expressed at the meeting over the decision to withhold commercial LPG cylinders. Addressing the representatives, Bajrang Garg stated that the halting of commercial LPG cylinder supply is having a detrimental impact on restaurants, dhabas, hotels, bakeries, ready-to-eat food, as well as the industry.
Ceasing the supply of commercial LPG cylinders will cause losses to businesses and industries, and hotels and restaurants will likely close down within a few days. Bajrang Garg stated that commercial LPG cylinders are used in the glass industry, metal cutting and brazing, tiles, pottery and ceramic industries, rubber and plastic processing units, paint industries, and small Ayurvedic industries. The suspension of commercial LPG cylinders is causing significant difficulties for all these industries and their employees.
Bajrang Garg stated that it's wedding season, and the suspension of commercial LPG cylinder supplies is causing significant difficulties for caterers and confectioners. The suspension of commercial LPG cylinder supplies is increasing the monthly expenses of hotels, restaurants, dhabas, and other industries. Bajrang Garg stated that instead of completely suspending the supply of commercial LPG cylinders, quotas should be set for each trade and industry so that no one's work is affected. The suspension of commercial LPG cylinders has led to a significant increase in coal consumption, which has led to higher coal prices. This is likely to increase inflation, particularly in the case of fertilizers and other commonly used items. Bajrang Garg stated that the public was already facing the brunt of inflation. Recently, the price of a domestic LPG cylinder, which used to cost around ?400, has been increased to ?931.
There is huge resentment among the general public due to the recent increase of Rs 60 in the price of domestic LPG cylinder and Rs 125 in the price of commercial LPG cylinder. The poor people have been hit by inflation due to the increase in the rate of domestic LPG cylinder. The government should give 50 percent subsidy to the general public on domestic LPG cylinder so that the general public can get some relief from inflation. Due to the stoppage of supply of commercial LPG cylinders, people working in industries are also facing problems in employment. Due to the stoppage of supply of commercial LPG cylinders, black marketing of gas will also increase.
