Hoshiarpur:- By continuously accelerating development works in the villages of Chabbewal constituency, MLA Dr. Ishank Kumar is constantly striving to equip every village with modern facilities. Under this series, he recently visited village Harkhowal and reviewed the ongoing development works and interacted with the villagers. On this occasion, he informed that various development works are going on in Harkhowal at a cost of about Rs 1.47 crore and many important projects have also been completed, which has brought major improvement in roads, health, drinking water, electricity and other basic facilities.
The MLA said that the construction of a 1.33 km long road from Harkhowal to Attowal Adda has been completed at a cost of Rs 40 lakh, which has provided better and smooth transportation facilities to the local people and passers-by. Apart from this, the work of 1.52 km long road from Dhakowal to Harkhowal is going on at a fast pace at a cost of Rs 22.16 lakh. The 1.16 km long road from Pandori Bibi to Harkhowal is being constructed at a cost of Rs 20.30 lakh, while the construction of 0.70 km long road from Dera Harkhowal to Marnai is going on at a cost of Rs 12 lakh, which will also provide easy transportation facility to the devotees visiting the dera. He said that with the completion of these road projects, the road connectivity system of the surrounding villages will be further strengthened. Dr. Ishank Kumar said that a new transformer has been installed in the village to further improve the power supply and the power wires of about half the village have been replaced, due to which the people are getting good power supply. The remaining power lines will also be replaced soon. Apart from this, a tubewell for drinking water has also been installed at a cost of Rs 10 lakh, which will be made operational as soon as the electricity connection is provided.
He further informed that the construction work of Aam Aadmi Clinic at a cost of Rs 24 lakh is going on rapidly, after which the villagers will be able to get quality health services in their own village. Apart from this, 22 sitting benches, 44 street lights and 8 road safety mirrors have also been installed in the village for the convenience of the people. He informed that the construction work of streets and drains is also being done at a cost of Rs 18 lakh, which will further improve the sanitation system and basic facilities.
Addressing the villagers, MLA Dr. Ishank Kumar said, "Our aim is that no village in Chabbewal constituency should be deprived of development. Providing basic facilities like roads, health, drinking water, electricity and sanitation to every village is our top priority."
The villagers thanked Dr. Ishank Kumar and said that the people are getting direct benefits due to the work being done on several development projects in the village at the same time. They expressed confidence that the remaining projects will also be completed soon, which will further strengthen the infrastructure of Harkhowal.
