Una, January 9: Under the able leadership of Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, the state government is working in a planned and committed manner to strengthen drinking water, irrigation, and sewerage facilities in the Shri Chintpurni assembly constituency. The successful operation of drinking water, irrigation, and sewerage schemes in rural and urban areas is being ensured through the Jal Shakti Division Amb, directly benefiting a large population of the area.
Executive Engineer of Jal Shakti Division Amb, Hoshiar Singh, informed that currently, a total of 1,17,151 beneficiaries in 210 villages of 59 Gram Panchayats, one Nagar Panchayat, and 591 settlements under the Amb division are being provided with drinking water, irrigation, and sewerage facilities. Water management in the area has been strengthened through these schemes.
He further informed that in the last three years, development works worth approximately Rs. 100 crore have been completed and dedicated to the public by the Jal Shakti Department in the Chintpurni assembly constituency. In addition, other development works worth approximately Rs. 100 crore are being implemented and proposed, which will be completed soon.
These include a sewerage system in Shri Chintpurni at a cost of Rs. 16 crore, a drinking water scheme in Shri Chintpurni at a cost of Rs. 12 crore, the Sohari Takoli drinking water scheme at a cost of Rs. 16 crore, the Ambehra Dheeraj drinking water scheme at a cost of Rs. 6 crore, a drinking water scheme in Amb under the Amrut Mission at a cost of Rs. 8.5 crore, a sewerage scheme in Amb at a cost of Rs. 4 crore, the Saloi lift irrigation scheme, an irrigation distribution network from the dam in Sohari Takoli at a cost of Rs. 12 crore, an irrigation scheme under NABARD at a cost of Rs. 12 crore, and embankment works in the Amb area at a cost of Rs. 7 crore.
**Development works completed in record time, further development works worth Rs. 100 crore proposed - Sudarshan Bablu**
Chintpurni MLA Sudarshan Singh Bablu said that the state government is giving concrete shape to development works in a fair, systematic, and record time. Over the past three years, developmental works worth Rs 100 crore have been completed and implemented on the ground in the Chintpurni assembly constituency in record time. Thanks to the state government's visionary policies and strong leadership, the development of the Chintpurni assembly constituency has gained new momentum.
Mr. Bablu stated that additional development works worth Rs 100 crore are proposed for the Chintpurni assembly constituency in the coming times, which will further strengthen the region's infrastructure and provide widespread benefits to the general public. He expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister for giving concrete shape to crucial development works in the region.
It is worth mentioning that recently, Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, who also holds the portfolio of the Jal Shakti Department, inaugurated a lift irrigation scheme constructed at a cost of Rs 4.15 crore in Behad Jaswan of the Chintpurni assembly constituency. This ambitious scheme will provide improved drinking water facilities to approximately 2700 people in seven villages under the Behad Jaswan and Tyai panchayats. The villages benefiting from this scheme include Bagdu, Ghungrala, Ladyal Chook, Basuni, Dhar Gujran, Tyai, and Gidgid.
**Water for every field, tap water for every home is the government's primary goal: Mukesh Agnihotri
Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri said that the main objective of the state government is to provide water to every field and clean tap water to every home. He said that no negligence will be tolerated in the development of the region. Welfare of the poor and public service are the government's guiding principles.
He informed that approximately Rs 1000 crore is being spent on drinking water, irrigation, and embankment works in Una district, so that the general public can get a clean, accessible, and sustainable water supply. The development works carried out through the Jal Shakti Department in the Chintpurni assembly constituency are directly benefiting the people.
