Haroli/Una, August 17: Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri stated that the construction of the indoor stadium at Government College Khad, being built at a cost of ?13.72 crore, will be completed in approximately two months. He visited the site on Monday to review the progress of the work.
Mukesh Agnihotri said that once the indoor stadium is ready, modern sports and fitness facilities will be available to the college students and the youth of the area. The stadium is being constructed with a multi-purpose hall and facilities for basketball, badminton, and volleyball, alongside a boxing ring, fitness center, yoga and meditation hall, and a cafeteria. He emphasized that sports, fitness, and mental health are crucial for the holistic development of students.
The Deputy Chief Minister noted that sports infrastructure is being continuously strengthened alongside education in the Haroli region. This indoor stadium at Government College Khad is a significant project aimed at expanding sports facilities in the area. He stated that the government strives to ensure students have access to modern facilities for sports and other activities—in addition to education—right within their own region.
He remarked that superior sports facilities provide youth with opportunities to hone their talents and progress. Efforts to strengthen education and sports facilities in the Haroli region will continue.
The Deputy Chief Minister instructed officials to complete the remaining work on the stadium within the stipulated timeframe and to pay special attention to the quality of construction. He added that students would begin to benefit from the stadium once it is ready in about two months.
