New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing during his first Mann Ki Baat this year, highlighted the 10th anniversary of the Start-up India initiative. He said that India has now become the third largest start-up hub in the world. He said that this start-up ecosystem started in 2016 with less than 500 start-ups but it has grown to more than 200,000 recognised institutions today.
Addressing the countrymen during the 130th episode of his monthly radio programme ‘Mann Ki Baat’, Mr Modi referred to a social media trend in which people are reminiscing about their memories of 2016. The Prime Minister said that he also wants to share such a memory with the country.
Prime Minister Modi recalled that a decade ago, the youth had launched the Start-up India Mission for the country. At that time, a large number of people did not know what it was, but they have become an important part of the country and are making a significant contribution to the country's development. He said that the country is developing only through the abilities of these youth.
