Hansi: Responding to a call from the Central Council of the Haryana State Electricity Board Workers' Union (Reg. No. 292), employees at the Hansi unit held a gate meeting and demonstration to protest against the policies of the government and the corporation management. The event was presided over by Senior Vice President Shamsher Berwal and conducted by Unit Secretary Shivendra Saini.
State Finance Secretary Anil Pahal stated that despite several rounds of talks regarding the employees' pending demands, no resolution has been reached. He warned that if a positive decision is not taken soon, the union would resort to a state-wide agitation and strike.
State Legal Advisor Vikas Nehra expressed dissatisfaction regarding the online transfer policy, staff shortages, and pending demands, warning that the agitation would be intensified.
The union demanded the withdrawal of moves to form the Haryana Agri-DISCOM and privatize the power sector, as well as amendments to the online transfer policy. Other demands included the provision of risk allowances, recruitment for vacant posts, the resolution of inter-utility transfer cases, and the implementation of cashless medical facilities for employees.
Shamsher Berwal demanded the formulation of a transparent transfer policy for employees, while Shivendra Saini asserted that privatization and the creation of the Agri-DISCOM were conspiracies to weaken the electricity department—moves that the union would oppose. A large number of employees attended the meeting, including Joginder Kumar, Naresh Batra, Pramod Sharma (Unit Vice-President), Vikas (Unit Cashier), Pradeep Malik, Anil Kumar, Avinash Kumar (Unit Joint Secretary), Ramesh Kumar, Suresh Kumar, Sahil Mittal, Satyavan Sharma, Saroj Devi (Chief Organizer), Rajendra Kathuria (City President), Madan Lal (City Sub-Unit Secretary), Suresh Bisla (Sub-Urban Sub-Unit President), Naveen Kumar (Sub-Unit Secretary), Satish Lohan (Sisay Sub-Unit President), Sumant Kumar (Sub-Unit Secretary, Sisay), Sachin Yadav (Sub-Unit Secretary, Mundhal), Satyavan Sharma (Sub-Unit Secretary, Narnaund), Kadam Singh (Sub-Unit President, Division Office), Sandeep Saini (Sub-Division Office Secretary), Mannu Yadav, Karmveer (JE), Shyamsundar (JE), Anoop (JE), and Prem (AFM).
