Haroli/Una, May 15 (Rajveer Chopra):— With the objective of familiarizing school students with the electoral process, elections for the posts of Head Boy and Head Girl were organized at Dashmesh Public School, Gurpalah Sahib, in the Haroli Tehsil. On this occasion, the school's Social Science teacher, Mrs. Rekha Rani, apprised the students of the procedures involved in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the importance of voting, and the fundamentals of the democratic system.
The school's Social Science lecturer explained that two male students—Karandeep Singh and Ishmeet Singh—and two female students—Parminder Kaur and Hardeep Kaur—from the tenth grade were nominated as candidates for the positions of Head Boy and Head Girl, respectively. Through speeches, the candidates presented their election symbols, their vision, and their plans for the school before the student body.
Subsequently, the students cast their votes for their preferred candidates by stamping the ballot papers next to their chosen election symbols and depositing them into the ballot box. Members of the polling team—comprising Ms. Ranjita Kumari, Ms. Gurjot Kaur, Gurvinder Singh, Darshan Singh, Gurlab Singh, and Avtar Singh—played a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution of the electoral process.
Throughout the entire election period, immense enthusiasm was observed among the students, and the voting process was conducted in a peaceful and orderly manner. Upon the conclusion of voting, the ballot box was sealed and handed over to the school Principal, Mrs. Dalvinder Kaur.
In the presence of Principal Mrs. Dalvinder Kaur, the votes were counted by Gurlab Singh and Avtar Singh, and the election results were subsequently declared. According to the results, in the boys' category, Karandeep Singh emerged victorious by defeating Ishmeet Singh; meanwhile, in the girls' category, Parminder Kaur secured the win by defeating Hardeep Kaur.
Thus, Karandeep Singh was elected as the Head Boy and Parminder Kaur as the Head Girl of the school. The school Principal, Mrs. Dalvinder Kaur, along with Social Science lecturer Mrs. Rekha Rani and the entire school staff, extended their congratulations to the winning candidates—Karandeep Singh and Parminder Kaur—and wished them a bright future. Additionally, the active participation of all student participants in the democratic process was appreciated.
