Una, September 9:- In a step towards giving a new identity to the glorious history of cooperation in the Haroli Assembly constituency, construction work on the Mian Hira Singh State Cooperative Training Centre and Community Centre in Panjawar is progressing at a fast pace. Nearly 60 percent of the construction work on this building, being constructed at a cost of around Rs. 5 crore, has been completed and the project is expected to be completed within the next six months. Equipped with modern facilities, the centre will provide important infrastructure for training, activities related to cooperation and community events.
Panjawar holds a special place in the history of cooperation. In 1892, Mian Hira Singh of this village organised farmers and initiated a collective effort that later provided a strong foundation to the cooperative movement. At that time, there was no law available for cooperative societies, due to which the initiative could not receive formal registration. Despite this, Mian Hira Singh’s initiative showed farmers the way to work together to find solutions to their problems. Around 134 years later, remembering his contribution, a State Cooperative Training Centre and Community Centre is being constructed in his name in this historic village.
This building will not merely be a construction project but will also serve as a medium to preserve the glorious cooperative heritage of Panjawar and Haroli and pass it on to the new generation. The fact that a modern training centre is taking shape at the same place from where the historic initiative in cooperation gained strength is a matter of pride for the area. After completion of the building, better space will be available here for training and other activities related to the cooperative sector.
Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri said that along with the development of Haroli, preserving the historical and cultural heritage of the area is also a priority. He said that Panjawar’s cooperative history is a matter of pride for the entire region and that the centre is being developed in the name of Mian Hira Singh in recognition of his contribution. He said that construction of the building is progressing rapidly and its completion within the next six months will give Panjawar a new identity as an important centre for cooperative training.
