Bhawanigarh- After Canada resident Jagman Samra recently released an alleged obscene video of Chief Minister Sardar Bhagwant Mann, there has been a political earthquake-like situation in the state. There is a strong demand for a high-level forensic investigation of this video so that the truth can come before the people of Punjab. Instead of giving a clear explanation on this matter, the government has resorted to undemocratic, low-quality, immoral and unconstitutional tactics.
Expressing this, Shiromani Akali Dal (Punar Surjit) Business Wing President and former Chief Parliamentary Secretary Babu Prakash Chand Garg said that violating the rule of law, Jagman Samra's close family members are being targeted by the police force just because Jagman Samra's village is Phagguwala.
He said that naming and arresting Sardar Ravinder Singh (Rovi) Ghuman, Rupinder Singh Romi, and Jaswinder Singh Jassi, prominent and respected family members of Jagman Samra's close family in the old case registered in the Moonak police station, shows the extent of Bhagwant Mann's unethical behavior.
Babu Prakash Chand Garg said that Shiromani Akali Dal (Punar Surjit) stands like a rock with the victim families against this act of oppression and political revenge.
He asked the senior police officers to follow their constitutional duty instead of becoming puppets of the government. He also said that till now, no forensic examination of the alleged video has been done, which would prove the credibility of any claim. He appealed to the district police chief that no law allows anyone to be harassed without any crime.
