Patiala:- Gyan Jyoti Education Society (Regd) Patiala organized a program dedicated to the martyrdom of the Sahibzadas, “Safar-e-Shahadat”, at Veer Haqiqat Rai Senior Secondary School, Patiala, under the leadership of Sardar Upkar Singh Pradhan, in which martyrdom stories and talks related to the Sahibzadas were read by children from 20 different schools of Patiala city.
On this occasion, *Veer Haqiqat Rai School Principal Mrs. Sarla Bhatnagar, Madam Rana Sidhu, S. Gurpreet Singh, Punjabi University Patiala, Mr. Tilakraj Garg, Director Fluent Academy and Immigration, Madam Asha Sharma International Poet, S. Satinder Singh Nanda, playwright and deputy director, language department, Punjab, Inspector Sarabjit Kaur, Mr. Jatwinder Grewal, Mr. Parminder Bhalwan, Mrs. Nirmal Goyal, Principal (Retd.), Mr. Narinder Sharma, Bank Officer (Retd.), Mr. Kaka Ram Verma and Dr. Harnek Singh Dhot participated in the presidium.
The entire arrangement of the meeting was done by Madam Naresh, senior teacher of Veer Haqiqat Rai School. The stage was conducted by Dr. Harnek Singh Dhot. At the beginning of the event, Sardar Upkar Singh welcomed the guests and shed light on the activities of the society. The event began with the singing of religious songs by the students of Veer Haqiqat Rai School.
The entire program was arranged by Sardar Parampal Singh. On this occasion, Madam Rana Sidhu, Mr. Jatwinder Grewal, Mr. Kaka Ram Verma, Sardar Satinder Singh Nanda, Prof. Maud Gill in their respective speeches shed light on the history related to the martyrdom of the Sahibzadas. In the junior category, Harsimran Kaur of Sri PM Government Senior Secondary School, Sanaur stood first, while Manjit Kaur of New Power House Colony School stood second and Sardar Buta Singh Dhudial Khalsa Senior Secondary School stood third. In the senior group, Indu of Veer Haqiqat Rai School stood first, while Balwinder Kaur of Sri PM School, Sanaur stood second and Megha of Atma Ram Kumar Sabha School stood third. The overall trophy was won by Sri PM Government Senior Secondary School, Sanaur. Apart from this, Simran Kaur of New Power House Colony was given the consolation prize in the senior category. Preneet Kaur Multipurpose School, Patiala and Aarti, Bakhshibir School, Patiala were awarded consolation prizes in the junior category.
At the end of the function, Sardar Parampal Singh thanked the guests. At the end of the function, tea and samosas were served to the children and guests as refreshments.
