Haryana/Hisar:- The two government schools in Gurana village set an example for environmental protection. A joint "Tree Plantation Campaign" was organized on Wednesday at the Government Model Sanskriti Primary School and the Government Senior Secondary School, Gurana.
District Elementary Education Officer, Hansi, Vinod Kumar, and Principal Bhatla, Surjeet, attended the event as guests. Also present were Sarpanch Ram Avtar of Gram Panchayat Gurana, Principal Baljeet Singh of Government Senior Secondary School Gurana, and Headmaster Rajendra Kumar of Government Model Sanskriti Primary School Gurana.
The Sarpanch and Deputy Education Officer, Hansi, planted a Triveni (a sacred tree) in both schools and pledged to protect the environment. During the ceremony, they explained the importance of trees to the children and encouraged them to plant trees under the "One Tree for Mother" campaign.
It was reported that 650 saplings have been successfully planted in the primary school and 1,000 in the senior secondary school. All the saplings are being regularly cared for by students and staff.
At the end of the program, each child was given a sapling and encouraged to plant and nurture it.
During the program, Sarpanch Ram Avtar, SMC members, and Headmaster Rajendra Kumar jointly raised the issue of the primary school's teacher shortage with the District Education Officer (DEO).
During this program, DEO Vinod Kumar assured the School Management Committee head, members, and Sarpanch that the teacher shortage would be addressed by Tuesday.
The Sarpanch assured the District Elementary Education Officer that the Gram Panchayat would fully cooperate with school operations.
District Elementary Education Officer Hansi Vinod Kumar, while expressing "profuse praise" to the heads and staff of both schools, stated that Gurana's schools are playing a leading role in both education and social concerns.
