Garhshankar, 12 March- Under the decision given by the Supreme Court on 1 September 2025, teachers appointed before 2010 have been forcibly required to clear TET to remain in service and to get promotion. In order to get this forcibly imposed TET condition revoked, and after the rally held at Anandpur Sahib by all teacher organizations of Punjab, during the discussion held with the Education Minister, the teacher organizations were not given any concrete assurance. Following the call to march towards the Legislative Assembly, today a large number of teachers from Garhshankar departed for Chandigarh under the leadership of DTF leaders Sukhdev Daansewal, Vinay Kumar, Karnail Singh Khanpur and Satpal Singh.
On this occasion, various teacher leaders Mukesh Kumar, Som Nath, Chandra Shekhar, Bhupinder Singh, Baljit Singh Bora, Ashwani Kumar Rana, Jagdeep Kumar and Khushwinder Kaur stated that on the 22nd of last month all teacher organizations of Punjab had organized a massive protest at Anandpur Sahib against this forcibly imposed TET. After that the Education Minister held a meeting, but during the meeting no special assurance was given by the Education Minister, due to which all teacher organizations of Punjab were compelled to adopt the path of struggle.
Teacher leaders demanded from the Punjab Government that to ensure the service security of teachers, a bill or resolution should be passed in the ongoing session of the Punjab Legislative Assembly against the forcibly imposed TET and this decision against natural justice should be revoked. They also demanded that a review petition should be filed in the Supreme Court.
On this occasion Jasvir Singh, Jaswinder Singh, Ramesh Malkowal, Sanjeev Kumar, Iqbal Singh, Sandeep Singh, Narendra Singh, Sandeep Kumar and Balwinder Singh were also present.
