Chandigarh, September 1:- Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Naib Singh Saini said that the state government has prepared a comprehensive plan for the beautification of the major religious places of the city including Brahm Sarovar in Kurukshetra, a religious place of international recognition, and expansion of facilities for devotees. Under the plan, various development and beautification works are being taken forward in a phased manner. Tenders for many works are being floated, while other works including rest houses are in the tender process.
The Chief Minister was answering a question asked by MLA Mr. Ashok Arora regarding Brahm Sarovar, Kurukshetra during the Question Hour of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha on Tuesday.
Mr. Naib Singh Saini said that MLA Mr. Ashok Arora has expressed his concern about the Brahm Sarovar and had raised this issue earlier also. The concerned minister has given detailed information to the House in this regard. The Chief Minister said that the government has made a complete plan for the beautification of the Brahm Sarovar and the surrounding area. Various works including the rest house are in the tender process and these works will be completed in a planned manner in the coming time.
He said that recently the martyrdom day of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji was celebrated in Kurukshetra, in which Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi also attended. Considering the religious and historical importance of Kurukshetra, the government has prepared a complete action plan for its all-round development and beautification and the work is being taken forward accordingly.
Referring to the railway elevated track of Kurukshetra, the Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi has recently inaugurated it. He said that when Mr. Manohar Lal was the Chief Minister and he himself was a Member of Parliament, at that time this project was discussed. Today the railway elevated track has been completed. With this project, the city has got relief from the problem of railway crossings and the connectivity of the city has also improved. He said that the speedy construction of such a large railway elevated track is commendable. Mr. Naib Singh Saini said that the state government is continuously working for the development, beautification and expansion of facilities for the devotees in line with the religious and historical dignity of Kurukshetra.
