Hansi:- Haryana State Women Commission Vice President Meena Parmar on Thursday made her first visit to Hansi district and held a review meeting with district administration and police officers regarding women's safety, respect, health services and speedy and effective disposal of complaints. She directed that the complaint of any woman coming with her problem to any government office should be resolved on priority basis with full sensitivity, seriousness and in a time-bound manner.
During the meeting, Vice President Meena Parmar said that the Haryana Government is working with full commitment for the safety, respect and empowerment of women. She said that providing a safe and dignified environment for women in the state is among the top priorities of the government. With this objective, the Women Commission is continuously visiting districts and inspecting the arrangements at the ground level, so that women do not have to face inconvenience at any level.
She said that during the Hansi visit, detailed discussions were held with district administration and police officers on women's safety, cases related to women's harassment, speedy disposal of complaints and effective implementation of women welfare schemes. She expected from the officers that fair, transparent and time-bound solution of every complaint related to women should be ensured, so that women's trust in administration and law and order becomes even stronger.
After the meeting, the Vice President of the Women Commission inspected the Civil Hospital, Hansi. During this, she visited various departments including the female ward, maternity ward, Pink OPD, medicine distribution room and inspected the health services minutely. She also took stock of the cleanliness of the hospital premises, condition of women's and men's toilets, drinking water system and basic facilities being provided to the patients.
During the inspection, she directly interacted with women patients and obtained information about treatment system, behavior of doctors, availability of medicines and functioning of hospital administration. Other women patients including Rajwanti, resident of Dhani Raju, expressed satisfaction over the health services available in the hospital and said that doctors behave cordially with patients, quality treatment is provided and essential medicines are being provided free of cost.
Meena Parmar said that the state government is continuously working to provide better, accessible and quality health services in every district. While specially appreciating the Pink OPD being run for women, she said that due to this, women are getting specialist medical services in an easy and dignified environment. She said that the objective of the Women Commission is to provide better health facilities to every woman in a safe environment and to ensure effective protection of their rights.
She also checked the record of medicines available in the medicine distribution room, stock register and labels of medicines and instructed the health officers to ensure availability of essential life-saving and general use medicines at all times, so that patients do not have to face any kind of problem.
After that, Vice President Meena Parmar inspected the Women Police Station, Hansi. She reviewed the action taken in various cases while perusing the register of complaints lodged in the women police station. She directed the police officers to ensure complete sensitivity, seriousness and prompt action in cases related to women, so that victim women can get justice in time and their trust in law and order becomes more strong.
She said that women's safety is not only the responsibility of the administration but the responsibility of the entire society. Only with the collective efforts of administration, police and society, a safe, respectable and fear-free environment can be created for women.
