Patiala- Giandeep Sahit Sadhana Manch (Regd) Patiala organized a literary event in the seminar hall of the Language Department in which poet Jaswinder Singh Khara’s poetry book ‘Tu Rabab Chhedar’ was launched. President of the Manch Dr. GS Anand welcomed the audience and introduced the scholars. Inaugurating the event, Secretary of the Manch Gurcharan Singh Chan Patialvi shared information about Jaswinder Singh Khara’s creative process, book and family.
Speaking as the paper speaker, Dr. Asha Kiran said that the poet has depicted the concept of Rabab, the concept of hope, the condition of a man wavering in the past and present through his poetry. Speaking as the chief guest, Dr. Satish Verma said that the poet has tried to express his past feelings through words in poetry.
Initiating the debate on the paper, Dr. Joga Singh Virk argued that Khara’s poetry, describing the pains he had endured, felt like his autobiography. Amarjit Singh Waraich said that the poet has also talked about the disappearing culture of the village in the poem.
Dr. Arvinder Kaur Kakra said that the feeling of the poet’s poem ‘Tu Rabab Chheed’ presented in the Tarnam is sweet to the ears of the listener.
Kabal Virk (Karnal) argued that the poet has suffered the pain of the waves of Naxalism and militancy in his village, which is also reflected in his poetry. Apart from the above, Dr. Gaurav Walia (Canada), Atinderpal Singh, former MP, and Dr. Harbans Dhiman also participated in the discussion.
Jaswinder Khara expressed special gratitude to Dr. Satish Verma and Dr. Joga Singh Virk and said that both these personalities have made me worthy to stand on the stage, while Balbir Jalalabadi and Gurcharan Singh Chan Patialvi have made a special contribution in bringing this book to the readers. Poet Khara's wife Davinder Kaur, daughter Amanlow Kaur, brother Hardeep Singh Khara and other relatives were also present at the event.
Among the renowned poets present in the poetry session were Kulwant Saidoke, Bachan Singh Gurm, Darshan Singh Darsh Pasiana, Dharm Kameana, Dr. Laxmi Narayan Bhikhi, Gurpreet Dhillon, Rajwinder Kaur Jatana, Navdeep Mundi, Avtarjit, Ram Singh Bang, Tejinder Anjana, Gurdarshan Singh Gusil, Gurcharan Pabbarali, Chamkaur Singh Chahal, Hari Singh Chamkaur, Sant Singh Sohal, Anita Arora, Hari Dutt Habib, Raj Singh Badhochi, Trilok Dhillon, Mangat Khan, Jaswinder Kaur, Sukhwinder Kaur Sukh, Harjit Kaur, Vijay Kumar, Manmohan Singh Nabha, Kuldeep Kaur Dhanju, Kajal Goyal, Sarwan Kumar Verma, Sham Singh Prem, Rajesh Kotia, Yashasvi, Kamaljit Kaur, SN Chaudhary, Dalip Singh Oberoi and Sarabjit Singh. Gurpreet Singh Jakhwali performed the photography duties brilliantly.
