Chandigarh, April 1:- Haryana Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Mr. Rajesh Nagar said that the state government is giving top priority to the rights of farmers. He said that under the guidelines of Chief Minister Mr. Naib Singh Saini, extensive preparations have been made to make the procurement process of mustard and wheat in the grain markets of the state systematic, transparent and smooth. He said that necessary facilities and arrangements have been further strengthened so that the farmers do not face any problem in the markets so that their crop is lifted on time and in a simple manner.
Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Rajesh Nagar was speaking after inspecting the Sohna Grain Market in Gurugram district on Wednesday. During this, he interacted with the traders and farmers and also got to know about their problems.
During the inspection, the Minister also closely inspected the services being provided at the help desk set up for the farmers, the rooms built at the entry gate and main entrance, the availability of grain bins for the visitors and the complaint register. He directed the officials to ensure that the complaints received from the farmers should be resolved on priority basis at the earliest. Mr. Nagar also inquired about the food arrangements being made in the Atal Canteen for the farmers visiting the mandi and also gave instructions to maintain it better.
He informed that with the aim of further strengthening the food procurement process, the existing e-procurement portal has been upgraded by the state government, in which many new provisions have been added. He said that during the Rabi procurement season 2026-27, during the arrival of wheat brought by farmers for sale in the mandis and procurement centers, a photo of the relevant vehicle along with its registration number will be captured so that transparency in the process can be ensured.
