Una, October 23 - As part of the District Disaster Management and Authority Una's Samarth 2025 program, artists from RK Kalamanch Chintpurni raised awareness about earthquake-safe building construction at the Chintpurni bus stand and Bhanjal on Thursday.
During this, they informed villagers about various techniques for building earthquake-resistant houses to reduce loss of life and property during an earthquake.
They stated that collective efforts are essential to reduce the damage caused by disasters. It is crucial to construct safe buildings that can withstand disasters and minimize losses.
They emphasized that the use of technology is essential to remain safe from disasters. Before making any structural changes to buildings, consult an engineer to minimize earthquake damage.
In safe building construction, awareness was raised about the importance of good cement mortar, horizontal earthquake-resistant bands, reinforcement of brick walls, vertical reinforcement of opening jambs, pillar construction, piling methods, concrete standards, and essential elements used in foundation construction.
