Haroli/Una, May 11 (Rajvir Chopra):— The final *Ardas* (prayer ceremony) for Sardar Surjit Singh Nangal—a resident of Ludhiana and a dedicated *Sevadar* (volunteer) at Tap Asthan Sri Khuralgarh Sahib—was concluded with deep reverence and respect at Gurdwara Sri Sukhmani Sahib, Urban Estate, Ludhiana. Sardar Surjit Singh had completed his earthly journey just a few days prior, departing to rest eternally in the divine presence of the *Akal Purakh* (the Timeless Being).
On this occasion, the *Jatha* (group) led by Baba Kewal Singh Ji—the Chief *Sevadar* of Tap Asthan Sri Khuralgarh Sahib—connected the congregation (*Sangat*) with *Gurbani* through soul-stirring *Kirtan* (hymn singing). Baba Kewal Singh Ji stated that while Sardar Surjit Singh Ji’s passing has caused an irreparable loss to his family, it has also inflicted a void that can never be filled within the Management Committee of Tap Asthan Sri Khuralgarh Sahib.
He remarked that Sardar Surjit Singh Ji was a man of *Gurmukh* (God-oriented) disposition, a true embodiment of *Gurbani*, and a person of extremely humble nature. He was a learned individual and, in himself, a veritable institution. His sudden departure from this world is deeply sorrowful.
The proceedings were anchored by his close friend, Prem Singh Leel. Speaking during the event, and visibly moved with emotion, he observed that an educated and sagacious individual has left us forever. He added that forgetting his dear friend is incredibly difficult, and even today, it feels as though Sardar Surjit Singh is constantly by his side.
On this occasion, tributes were also offered by Sardar Bikar Singh Natt.
A large congregation attended the ceremony, including Baba Kewal Singh (of Sri Khuralgarh Sahib), Bhai Baljinder Singh Bharoli, Bhai Deepak Singh Hiyala, Chandan Singh, Sardar Mahinga Singh, Bikar Singh Natt, Master Mela Singh, Prem Singh Leel, Dr. Rupinder Singh Sudhar, and Sardar Budhel, among others.
