Patiala:- In today's time, along with education, students can be prepared for future challenges through training and practice on safety, health, well-being, prevention of accidents, mishaps and helping victims during emergencies. This idea was expressed by the Principal of the famous Veer Haqiqat Rai Model Senior Secondary School, Patiala, Mrs. Sarla Bhatnagar, while thanking Dr. Rakesh Vermi, President of the Dedicated Brothers Group, and Mr. Kaka Ram Verma, Chief Trainer of the First Aid, Safety, Health Awareness Mission, on the occasion of the auspicious inauguration of the Jagriti Club established at the school.
Dr. Rakesh Vermi and Kaka Ram Verma said that the Government of India and Punjab should make students aware of drugs, crimes, cybercrime, accidents, diseases, greed, tastes, losses caused by decisions and to save precious lives and properties during emergencies, about disaster management, civil defense, first aid, CPR, care of the injured, use of fire safety cylinders, traffic rules, laws, principles, etc. For this, considering it a social responsibility, awareness clubs will be formed in schools and information will be given to the students from time to time.
Apart from this, inter-school competitions will also be organized in these awareness clubs on the occasion of national and international awareness days. ASI Ram Saran of the Traffic Education Cell, while expressing his gratitude, said that by conducting repeated trainings and exercises in schools, students can be prepared as helpful angels of the victims and responsible, loyal, honest, citizens.
Secretary of Jagriti Club Mrs. Sachna Sharma expressed her gratitude and said that it is a very honourable opportunity for her school and students to get the required information. NCC, NSS and Scout Guide activities are already going on continuously at her school.
