Una, January 5- The Himachal Pradesh Transport Directorate is organizing a “Road Safety Film Festival” as part of its road safety awareness campaign. This innovative initiative aims to strengthen public awareness of road safety by ensuring the creative participation of citizens through short films and videos.
This festival will inspire all road users – drivers, pedestrians, and passengers – to adopt responsible behavior and will strengthen the collective commitment to reduce road accidents and protect precious lives. The Transport Department has urged all citizens to submit short films/videos on the subject of road safety by February 15, 2026.
**Participants above 18 years of age can participate
Regional Transport Officer (RTO) Una, Ashok Kumar, said that under the “Road Safety Film Festival,” any person above 18 years of age can participate by making a short video in Hindi or English on various topics related to road safety. **Online and offline submission facilities available
Participants can send their short film/video online through the Google Form link https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdh907oNQcKpqWHe1FHqXAF9K8D1FL1X7qSnhSXDjTW4FnvXw/viewform or to the departmental email [email protected] along with Annexure 1. Alternatively, entries can also be submitted directly to the Directorate of Transport, Nodal Agency/Road Safety Cell, Himachal Pradesh, Shimla.
**Eligibility and Criteria
This competition is open to citizens, students, and professional filmmakers. The minimum age is 18 years (as of or before December 10, 2025). Entries are invited from all states of the country. The film, based on road safety, should be in Hindi or English and have a maximum duration of 5 minutes.
**Prizes for the best entries
The RTO announced that attractive prizes will be awarded to the best films selected at the festival. In each of the age categories – 18 to 25 years, 25 to 32 years, 32 to 40 years, and over 40 years – a prize of Rs. 25,000, a certificate, and a trophy will be awarded. In addition, 20 special prizes will be given, each consisting of Rs. 5,000 and a certificate. All participants will also receive a certificate of participation.
