Haroli/Una, August 6 (Rajveer Chopra): Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Shri Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu inaugurated an e-library established in Mashobra, Shimla district, under Nestle India's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program. Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Shri Anirudh Singh was also present on the occasion.
Nestle India has provided 10 desktop computers and the necessary furniture for this e-library. Established at the Block Development Office (BDO) in Mashobra, the library will be open to all citizens and will provide modern facilities for digital education and study to local residents, including students.
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu stated that education and awareness are the foundations of a progressive society, and libraries play a crucial role in strengthening both. Appreciating Nestle India's contribution to this initiative, he remarked that this blend of books and digital technology would foster knowledge, curiosity, and opportunities.
Himmat Singh, Director of Corporate Affairs, Sustainability, and CSR at Nestle India, said that empowering communities is among the company's key CSR priorities. According to him, a library is not merely a building but a hub of knowledge, opportunity, and awareness, and Nestle will continue to contribute to the state's development through such public-interest initiatives in the future.
Nestle India's Senior Manager (Corporate Affairs) Jaideep, Media Relations Manager Amit Kumar Roy, and Ambreen Ali Shah were also present on the occasion.
