Kolkata:- The Election Commission of India has issued a formal notification for the formation of a new assembly in West Bengal after the successful completion of the election process. The notification has been sent by the Commission to the Governor of the state, which has now paved the way for the formation of the new government and the oath-taking ceremony of the elected representatives.
A senior Election Commission official said that this notification issued on Tuesday is an important constitutional step after the declaration of the results of the assembly elections. He said, “With this notification, the process of formation of the new assembly by the Commission has been completed. Now the next action will be taken by the Governor as per the prescribed procedure.” The official also claimed that the entire process from voting to counting has been carried out in a completely fair and transparent manner.
It is worth mentioning that in these assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won a landslide victory by winning 207 seats in the 294-member assembly. This historic result has ended the Trinamool Congress (TMC)'s 15-year rule in the state. All eyes are now on the swearing-in ceremony of the new government.
