Una, April 8: Education Minister Rohit Thakur will attend as the Chief Guest at the district-level Himachal Day celebrations scheduled to be held in Una district on April 15. He will hoist the National Flag within the premises of the Government Senior Secondary School (Boys), Una.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Mahendra Pal Gurjar reviewed the preparations and issued necessary directives during a meeting held on Wednesday with officials from all departments in the conference hall of the Bachat Bhawan.
He informed that the Education Minister would pay floral tributes at the Martyr's Memorial located at MC Park at 10:40 AM, following which he would perform the flag-hoisting ceremony at the school premises at 11:00 AM. Subsequently, he will inspect the parade, take the salute of the march past, and address the gathering.
During the ceremony, contingents from the Police and Home Guards—along with NCC and NSS cadets from various educational institutions—will present an impressive parade. Additionally, colorful cultural programs will be presented by school children, theater troupes, social organizations, and Anganwadi centers.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner further stated that tableaux based on social messages and developmental schemes would be showcased by various departments during the event. Prominent among these will be tableaux related to the Chief Minister Sukh Ashray Scheme, the Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar Student Loan Scheme, Agriculture and Horticulture, the Red Cross, and the District Disaster Management Authority.
He also mentioned that stalls set up by Self-Help Groups would be established at the venue, aiming to promote their products and economically empower women. Furthermore, developmental exhibitions will be organized by various departments.
Officials present at the meeting included ASP Sanjeev Bhatia, SDM Una Abhishek Mittal, Joint Commissioner of Una Municipal Corporation Manoj Kumar, along with heads of various other departments.
