Bhattukalan (Fatehabad), June 6: The campaign to make the district drug-free and rescue the youth from the quagmire of ruin has gained momentum. As part of this initiative, the 'Nashamukti Sena' (Anti-Drug Army)—which aims to engage youth in sports and education while waging a battle against drug smugglers—arrived in the Bhattu region, located near the Rajasthan border, on Saturday. The team, led by Nashamukti Sena Convener Bhawani Singh and District President Mohan Garhwal Sarpanch, received a warm welcome from representatives of various local social organizations.
A crucial meeting was held with these social organizations to discuss the formation of a Nashamukti Sena unit in Bhattu. All participating organizations pledged their full support to the campaign and resolved to unite in the fight against drug abuse.
Addressing the meeting, Nashamukti Sena Convener Bhawani Singh noted that drug smuggling activities in the Bhattu region have surged recently due to its proximity to the Rajasthan border. He described the situation as deeply concerning, warning that if social organizations and the general public do not unite with awareness, the future generation will fall victim to addiction.
"Our objective is not merely to spread awareness but also, with the cooperation of the police administration, to put 'white-collar' smugglers—who gamble with young lives for the sake of quick money—behind bars. We must reach out to every village and steer the youth toward sports and quality education so that they do not go astray," he said.
It was unanimously decided at the meeting that a strong unit of the Nashamukti Sena would soon be formed for the Bhattu region to actively combat drug abuse on the ground. Representatives from various social and business organizations in the area participated in this meeting. Key attendees included Dinesh Machra (Garv Sainik Sangathan), Narendra Kumar Luna (Sahara Ek Umeed), Pramod Goyal and Gopal (Khushi Ek Umeed), and Trade Association President Pramod Goyal. Also present were Satbir Dupka, Ravindra Dhaka, Anil Nambardar, Devendra Bana, Harpal Beniwal, Bansilal Gujjar, Rajendra Dupka, Anoop Sarpanch, Paras Singla, Naresh Bangaon, Krishna Parcha, Anil Thakur, Rajesh Bhambhu, Kuldeep Hijrawan, Ramchandra, Subhash Hijrawan, Ramesh Dhaka, Narendra Kumar, Sandeep Dhaka Ramsara, Hanuman Dhaka, Rajesh, Mohit, and Naveen, along with many other prominent local figures; all pledged to make this campaign a success.
