Hoshiarpur:- During the ongoing winter session of the Lok Sabha, Lok Sabha member from Hoshiarpur, Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal, raised a demand to name the inter-state airport Adampur after Shri Guru Ravidass Maharaj Ji and it was informed that in this regard, the Aam Aadmi Party government of Punjab has already passed a proposal in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha and sent it to the Central Government and now the Central Government should take further action in this matter.
Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal said that since the Sangat is going to celebrate the happiness of the birth anniversary of Shri Guru Ravidass Maharaj Ji for the entire year from 2026 to 2027, the Central Government should also do its duty to increase these happiness. He said that as soon as the central government takes a decision in this regard, we will express our respect by engraving the name of Shri Guru Ravidass Maharaj Ji in gold letters at the airport.
Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal has also demanded from the central government that Adampur Airport be made an international airport, he reasoned that since a large number of people related to Doaba live abroad, if the airport of Adampur is of international standard, then NRIs will get facilities.
Along with this, small and big industries in this area also need an international airport, with the establishment of an international airport, not only will the people get facilities, but the development of this area will also get a new direction.
Talking to reporters in this regard, Dr. Raj said that for centuries, Guru Sahib Ji's message of love, equality, compassion and humanity has been illuminating the lives of millions of people. I believe that linking this important place with the name of Guru Sahib Ji will become a source of inspiration for future generations as well. He said that this is not just a demand made in Parliament, it is the voice of our people, the spirit of the nation and it is a humble tribute to our Guru Sahib.
