Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, November 13: Presiding over the meeting of the District Monitoring Committee on Accessible Elections, Election Tehsildar Mr. Sanjay Kumar asked to start efforts from now on as per the instructions of the Election Commission to ensure the participation of Divyang and senior citizens in the upcoming elections.
He said that as per the guidelines of the Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab, Chandigarh, camps should be organized at the assembly constituency level and district level to make the BLOs, polling officers, police force, booth volunteers aware of the special needs of Divyang voters during the election process.
Such Divyang voters who are not included in the voter list of any assembly constituency should have their votes counted. The Saksham app run by the Election Commission of India was explained. On this app, the Divyang voter can view his vote, apply for making/correcting vote/getting PWD mark. On this occasion, Mrs. Poonam Lal, District Coordinator, Dr. Muskan Puri, Medical Officer, Mohali, Mrs. Jasvir Kaur, District Social Education Officer, Mohali, Mr. Paramjit Singh, Tehsil Welfare Officer, Mohali, Mr. Angrej Singh, Deputy District Education Officer (SEO), Mr. Gurbakshis Singh, District SWEEP Nodal Officer were present.
