Kapurthala:- Under the guidance of the Punjab Government and the able leadership of the Language Department, Punjab, various literary, creative and artistic activities were organized by the District Language Offices of various districts dedicated to Punjabi Month.
Under which, the District Language Office Kapurthala, in collaboration with the leading literary organization of the area, the Creation Center (Regd.) Kapurthala, organized a "Sirjana De Pandhi" poetry gathering at the office Virsa Vihar. Various renowned personalities specially participated in this poetry gathering and various writers of the area also attended.
Dr. Sarwan Singh Pradesi and special guest Pravasi Bharti Prin. Kewal Singh Rattra attended this event as the chief guest. The event was presided over by the representative of the Punjab Government and recognized as the National Poet, Kanwar Iqbal Singh, Prof. Kulwant Singh Aujla, Madam Jaspreet Kaur, District Language Officer Kapurthala, Dr. Amandeep Singh, Dr. Ragini Sharma, and others.
In the initial phase of the event, the President of the Center, Kanwar Iqbal Singh, welcomed everyone and said that the followers of the Punjabi language are committed to continue to be active in creating Punjabi literature in the future as well. General Secretary Shahbaz Khan inaugurated the event with the special attraction of the event, “Sirjana De Pandhi” poetry gathering, in which various poets from the area presented their works.
In this poetry festival, Triman Singh, Surinder Sheikhupur, Malkit Singh Meet, Principal Balbir Kaur Babbu Saini Phagwara, Sukhdev Singh Gandhwa, Sufi poet Mukhtar Sahota, Aman Gandhi, Ladi Bhullar, Manjinder Kamal, Munazza Irshad, Mangal Singh Bhandal, Tejbir Singh, Avtar Singh Bhandal, Avtar Singh Gill, Dr. Ram Murthy, Dr. Harbhajan Singh, Rupinder Singh, Ashu Kumra, Jass Dhingan and Sarwan Singh attended with their works written on various topics. It is noteworthy that in this event, Ghazal singer Sabir Sargam won the hearts of the guests present with his singing. In the second round of the event, Prof. Kulwant Singh Aujla said that the success of this literary event lies in the fact that so many poets and writers have attended, for which the District Language Office, Kapurthala and the Creation Center deserve congratulations. Dr. Amandeep Singh said in his words that the Creation Center has not only been active for such activities since before but this literary venture done in collaboration with the District Language Office is even more commendable.
Principal Kewal Singh Rattra, who was present as the special guest, said that such activities are making a unique contribution in further strengthening literature and book culture throughout the state. He said that in today's times, there is a dire need to further strengthen the relationship between the reader and the book.
The chief guest of the event, Dr. Sarwan Singh Pardesi, while praising the entire event, said that a good poet, along with being a reader, listener and thinker, is also a sincere analyst, who also examines every event happening around him from a literary perspective. He said that a mature writer or poet walks on the path of letters with a storehouse of many elements within him, which prove to be helpful in making him a highly sensitive writer.
At the end of the event, the President of the Center, Kanwar Iqbal Singh, thanked everyone in particular. In this event, a book exhibition was organized by the District Language Office, Kapurthala to further strengthen the relationship between the reader and the book, which received a great response from the readers.
Dr. Harbhajan Singh presented free books to the writers who came on behalf of the Book Forum, Kapurthala. The entire presidium honored all the poets who attended with poems by presenting books as gifts from the District Language Office.
After this, the personalities included in the presidium and the executive team, including Ashu Kumra, Malkit Singh Meet, Avtar Singh Gill, Dr. Avtar Bhandal, Gurdeep Gill, etc., honored the chief guest, special guest and the dignitaries presiding over the event by presenting loi and honorable symbols.
On this occasion, Dr. Harbhajan Singh, Swaraj Kaur, Sukhjit Kaur, Gagandeep Singh, Komalpreet Kaur, Gurdeep Gill, Kuldeep Singh, Pargat Singh Randhawa, Manga Momi and Manish Bahl and Salman from the District Language Office Kapurthala were specially present.
