Nawanshahr:- District Legal Services Authority, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar organized a legal awareness seminar at village Majut on the occasion of International Anti-Drug Day and Day against Illicit Drug Trafficking.
This seminar was organized under the instructions of Punjab State Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar and under the guidance of Honorable District and Sessions Judge Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar **Shri Jatinder Pal Singh Khurmi** and Civil Judge (Senior Division)-cum-CJM and Secretary, District Legal Services Authority **Dr. Amandeep**.
This program was organized under **NALSA**'s **"DWAN - Drug Awareness and Wellness Navigation for a Drug Free India Scheme 2025"**, which aims to create awareness among the people to realize the dream of a drug-free India.
During the seminar, Para Legal Volunteers of District Legal Services Authority **Vijay Pal Rana, Paramjit Kaur and Shikha Rani** while addressing the people present said that the main objective of this seminar is to make the youth and the general public aware of the physical, mental and social ill effects of drugs, to provide information about the legal punishments related to drugs and to create awareness about the available means of getting rid of addiction.
They appealed to the people to stay away from drugs themselves and come forward to make their family, friends and society drug-free. They said that the problem of drugs can be effectively controlled only by connecting the youth with education, sports and creative activities.
The speakers said that the District Legal Services Authority is continuously making people aware against social evils through free legal aid and awareness campaigns.
