Garhshankar:- Under the guidelines of Civil Surgeon Dr. Mandeep Kamal, District Immunization Officer Dr. Seema Garg conducted a review meeting at Primary Health Center (PHC) Possi with LHVs, Health Inspectors, ANMs, Multipurpose Health Workers (Female), and Community Health Officers (CHOs). During the meeting, while reviewing the progress of various National Health Programs, strict instructions were issued to the officials and employees.
Dr. Seema Garg stated that field activities for the prevention of Dengue and Malaria during the monsoon season should be further accelerated. She directed that every Friday be observed as a 'Dry Day', house-to-house larva surveillance be conducted, people be encouraged not to let water stagnate, and patients with fever be examined immediately. She asserted that if any negligence is reported in any area, the responsibility of the concerned employee will be fixed.
She instructed all staff to accelerate activities related to regular chlorination of drinking water, water sampling, and food safety, and to educate the public about safe food and clean water.
During the meeting, a detailed review was conducted on Maternal and Child Health services, TB program, NCD screening, HPD teleconsultation, HMIS reporting, and timely and accurate data entry on other online portals. She emphasized that all registers and records must be kept up-to-date and there should be no errors in reporting.
Reviewing routine immunization, Dr. Seema Garg issued strict instructions to ensure 100 percent vaccination of every eligible child without fail. She said that no child should be left unvaccinated, and dropout or left-out children should be identified and vaccinated immediately.
She also reviewed the HPV vaccination and instructed to ensure 100 percent HPV vaccination for eligible girls. Awareness activities in schools and communities should be made more effective so that no eligible beneficiary is deprived of vaccination.
Dr. Garg informed that World Hepatitis Day will be observed on July 28. In this regard, people should be made aware of the prevention, timely testing, treatment, and vaccination against Hepatitis B and C in all health institutions.
She also mentioned that World Breastfeeding Week will be observed from August 1 to 7. During this period, instructions were given to spread comprehensive awareness among pregnant women and new mothers regarding initiating breastfeeding within one hour of birth, exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months, and continuing breastfeeding with supplementary nutrition up to two years.
During the meeting, all field staff were directed to accelerate health awareness activities at the village level, meet all national health program targets on time, and ensure that the benefits of government health services reach every eligible person.
Dr. Seema Garg made it clear that negligence in any national health program, delay in reporting, or failure to meet designated targets will be taken seriously. Every officer and employee must discharge their duties with complete honesty, accountability, and punctuality so that the district's health indicators can be further improved.
